New Zealand three-year-old Sonorous will tackle a lesser task in New South Wales this weekend.
Trainers Scott Lucock and Sally Gillespie's hopes of the three-year-old winning his way into the Gr.1 Queensland Derby were dashed when he was unplaced last time out at Randwick.
They have instead accepted with Sonorous in a 2000 metre handicap back at Randwick, in which he has 60.5kg, or they have the option of starting in an 1800 metre handicap at Hawkesbury on Sunday.
