Wellington solicitor James Dunne has been appointed as the New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing company secretary and general counsel.
"The calibre of candidates for the position was impressive and we are very happy to have obtained someone with James' expertise and enthusiasm," NZTR chief executive Greg Purcell said.
"His range of skills will be well suited to what will become an increasingly varied and complex role."
Dunne, who will begin work at NZTR on June 27, fills the position vacated by Simon Cooper, who has returned to England to take up a senior role with Weatherbys.
