Sacred Elixir is thriving in Queensland and he will find the mile of Saturday's Gr.1 J.J. Atkins Stakes made to order.
The Tony Pike-trained juvenile followed his first-up win at the Sunshine Coast with a fast-finishing sixth in the Gr.2 Sires' Produce Stakes at Doomben.
"He was definitely looking for further than the 1350m, but from that wide gate we had no option but to go back," Pike said.
"He was really hitting the line strongly in the final stages so once he gets to Eagle Farm over a mile he's going to prove very hard to beat."
International jockey Zac Purton will retain the ride on the Pour Moi youngster.
