New Zealand Derby winner Rangipo will not press on to the Gr.2 Queensland Guineas and has been sent for a spell.
"We decided after his first-up run he was just on the back foot fitness wise to get him ready for the Queensland Guineas," trainer Tony Pike said.
"He's going to have a good spell here in Queensland for six or seven weeks. Then he'll come back into pre-training before he goes to Melbourne for the spring."
