Four-year-old mare Summer's Day will be out to make it back to back wins at Ellerslie on Saturday.
The Tony Pike-trained mare tackles the Edwards Sound Chairman's Trophy (1400m) a week after handling Heavy10 conditions at Ellerslie with aplomb when easily accounting for her rivals in Rating 85 grade.
"Summer's Day is flying at the moment," Pike said. "She was very dominant the other day.
"We did have a slight query on the track conditions, but she seemed to get through the ground well.
"She's pulled up super from that run last Saturday and she's a very fit mare at the moment."
