Chris Waller has confirmed that the New Zealand-bred and owned Mackintosh will run in the Gr.1 Queensland Derby on Saturday week.
"We are very happy with the way that he has come through his winning run in the Grand Prix over the 2200m," he said.
"Having seen him come through the race and having a good look at his profile, we have no doubt that he will run the 2400m distance."
Waller had previously consulted with Mackintosh's New Zealand owners Lib Petagna, Tony Muollo senior and Tony Muollo junior about the option of switching to the Gr.2 Queensland Guineas over a mile.
