A double international strike at the weekend has provided an early wedding present for Kiltannon Stables' Mark Forbes and Lorraine Conroy.
With a thriving Cambridge operation to manage, the couple will limit their time away this month with an abbreviated honeymoon to follow their upcoming nuptials in Ireland.
"I leave on Wednesday week for a fortnight," Forbes said. "Lorraine and our little fellow Jackson are over there now so I can't wait to see them."
Kiltannon has come a long way in a short time after making their Karaka debut at the 2014 Ready to Run Sale where their draft included New Asia Sunrise, who won for the fourth time at Sha Tin in Hong Kong on Sunday evening.
His victory was complimented in Singapore where rising star and Gr.2 Stewards' Cup winner Titanium is another Forbes graduate, although he was sold at the 2013 auction under the Mana Park banner.
"I prepped him at Cambridge Stud, where Sir Patrick let me keep five horses, before he went to Maryanne Simon for the sale," Forbes said.
"Everything has gone really well for us and we've had great staff right from the start."
Kiltannon is something of a family affair with Forbes' brother Lance part of the team as well as Conroy's cousin Colm Murray.
"We'll have between 25 and 30 for the Ready to Run Sale again later this year," he said.
Forbes also holds a trainer's licence with a handful of horses currently in work, including Savannah Samoya who will run in the Slattery Contracting 1600 at Matamata on Wednesday.
She will be ridden by another brother Alex, who will be restricted by weight this winter to riding in highweights and over jumps.
"I've got seven horses in work and some very nice rising three-year-olds that look quite exciting for next season," Forbes said.
Among them is Royal Fashion, a half-sister by Snitzel to the Australian Group Two winner Alpine Eagle, who has placed in both her starts to date for her Hong Kong-based owner Dr Gene Tsoi.
"She'll be back in the stable on July 1 and, all going well, will go to Te Rapa on Foxbridge Plate day and then into the Gold Trail Stakes," Forbes said.
