After an impressive win in the Group Two Sandy Lane Stakes on Saturday, three-year-old filly Quiet Reflection (GB) (Showcasing) has been swiftly moved to 7-2 favouritism for the Group One Commonwealth Cup on day four of the Royal Ascot Carnival.
A member of Showcasing's second Northern Hemisphere crop, Quiet Reflection was already the winner of the Group Three Prix Sigy at Chantilly on seasonal debut and is quickly making a name for herself as one of Britain's leading sprinting fillies with trainer Karl Burke also considering the Group One King's Stand Stakes as a Royal Ascot target.
Showcasing is currently New Zealand's leading Second Season Sire off the back of securing the 2YO and First Season Sire's titles last season. "Showcasing has made a remarkable start to his stud career in both hemispheres which is extremely important," says Haunui Farm's Managing Director, Mark Chitty. "He is ticking all the boxes and we are confident he'll continue to do so. His winners to runners ratio from his first crop is over 50% which is very telling especially when compared to other second season sires and, he has the most stakes performers. He's left a Karaka Million winner and runner-up as well as a Derby performer which is very important," says Mark.
