New Zealand-bred galloper Titanium has pressed his Gr.1 Singapore Derby claims with an impressive display to win the Gr.2 Stewards' Cup at Kranji.

The son of Tavistock overcame a tricky gate on Sunday evening to score a first feature race win for Englishman Jamie Peters, who was formerly assistant trainer to the now Sydney-based Michael Freedman.

"He's a horse who goes very well fresh and has a very good turn of foot. All he needs is a hard pace up front to finish it off," Peters said.

"I was never bothered by the wide draw. He's a horse who gets back and I know he can really let down. We're definitely looking forward to the mile and the Derby now."

He was referring to the Gr.1 Patron's Bowl on June 19 ahead of the classic on July 10.
