A Shin Hikari destroys his rivals in the Gr.1 Prix d'Ispahan
A Shin Hikari, a son of Deep Impact and one of Japan's leading performers at around 2000m, made an astonishing European debut in the Gr.1 Prix d'Ispahan at Chantilly on Tuesday, winning by 10 lengths with a field that included New Bay, last year's French Derby winner, strung out behind him.
A Shin Hikari is now the clear favourite for the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot next month, but will not run in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in October as the 2400m trip is considered beyond his reach.
