Heavy rain has forced the abandonment of the Counties meeting at Pukekohe Park on Wednesday.
Representatives of the club, the Racing Integrity Unit and the Trainers' Association walked the track on Tuesday after two horses had galloped in the hands of senior jockeys.
Given the weather forecast for the next 24 hours and the new state of the course, there was a consensus that the track was likely to deteriorate further and it was recommended that racing should not proceed. Every attempt was made to find an alternative venue.
