Nick Hall is a fan of the New Zealand-bred three-year-old Harvard, who holds a nomination for next month's Gr.1 Queensland Derby.
The Melbourne-based jockey rode the son of Shocking to a six length maiden victory on the synthetic track at Geelong on Tuesday for trainer Ciaron Maher.
"He's a really nice staying horse and a big improver too, so you'll see him in some nice races in the future," Hall said.
"We really think he's a horse that's going to get beyond 2000m."
