Brighthill Farm's promising young sire Dalghar (FR) has already put himself on the map as the sire of exciting stakes-winning filly Astara and he was also making news in Europe last weekend as the sire of Czech Republic 2,000 Guineas winner Lagaro.
The Champion 2YO Colt in the Czech Republic last year winning three of four starts, he took out the Czech Republic 2,000 Guineas over 1600 metres, scoring by a length and a half over the Dream Ahead gelding Luck Ahead.
Lagaro is one of four European bred winners for Dalghar from only a handful of runners.
He is from the Night Shift mare Lady Kristinne, a three-quarter sister-in-blood to Champion 3YO Filly and four-time Group I winner In The Groove.
A half-brother by renowned shuttle sire Anabaa to champion racehorses and successful sires Daylami and Dalakhani, Dalghar was a brilliant Group III winning sprinter miler that set a course record at Longchamp for 1400 metres.
Given his credentials it's no surprise to see him making an impression at stud, his service fee for this spring set at $8,000 plus GST.
