A float injury forced the late scratching at Rotorua on Saturday of the Group One performer Battle Time.
The Tim and Margaret Carter-trained three-year-old suffered a cut to his lower jaw, which required stitching.
Battle Time has won one of his 12 starts and has twice been Group One placed in the Diamond Stakes and in the New Zealand 2000 Guineas.
