Having exceeded expectations with their first sale in April, the gavelhouse.com team is gearing up for their second sale, with entries closing at 7pm on Sunday the May 22.
Price highlights in the site's first online auction in April included $91,000 paid for a Tavistock weanling colt, $68,000 for a trial winning three year old sold to Hong Kong and $60,000 for a mare in foal to Tavistock. These prices demonstrated that horses of all values can be marketed through the site with over $325,000 turned over.
"Not only have horses from our first sale been purchased by local buyers but some are now destined for Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong which is a great result for our vendors and a brilliant endorsement of our site," said sales and marketing manager Haylie Martin.
The winner of gavelhouse.com's first 'Bucket of Cash' give-away was Helen Johnson who sold her mare Goldmoor (NZ) (Nadeem) in foal to Niagra for $2,600.
This $500 cash prize will again be run in May with vendors who list and sell a horse on the site this month going into the draw.
Entries close for the gavelhouse.com May Sale at 7pm on Sunday 22 May. The catalogue will go live online at 7pm on Monday May 23 with bidding starting at 7pm on Monday May 30 and the final countdown running from 7pm on Thursday June 2.
