Breeders will have an added incentive to support the Australian speed machine Il Cavallo who will serve his first season at Chequers Stud in 2016.

Brothers Mark Fraser-Campin and Chris Campin purchased the handsome son of the international Group One winner and producer Choisir last spring to stand at their Cambridge operation alongside Battle Paint.

Il Cavallo's introductory fee has been set at $3000 + GST, but with an extra bonus.

"We will cover the cost of entry into the New Zealand Bloodstock Pearl Series Bonus Scheme for any breeder who gets a filly," Fraser-Campin said.

The scheme currently offers bonuses of almost $2.6 million and prizemoney of nearly $2.8 million across 215 individual races for fillies and mares over three seasons' racing.

Il Cavallo won four times at 1000 metres and once in record time at Sandown over 900 metres under the care of the leading Caulfield trainer Peter Moody. He also placed in the Gr. 3 Vain Stakes and stakes placed multiple times.

"He's an outstanding type of horse with a great pedigree and a terrific temperament so he ticked all the boxes for us," Fraser-Campin said.

"We're certain he's going to be leaving great individuals with the pace and ability to make strong and early impressions."

Il Cavallo is out of the El Moxie mare Gold Chant and is a half-bother to the Gr.1 1000 Guineas winner Amicus and a three-quarter-brother to the champion European and Australian sprinter and Group One producer Starspangledbanner.

It is also the family of the Aidan O'Brien-trained dual Group One Hong Kong Vase and Secretariat Stakes winner Highland Reel.

Il Cavallo's associate sire Battle Paint will stand at $5000 + GST.

The Tale Of The Cat stallion has produced 27 individual winners from 48 runners at an impressive strike rate of better than 56 percent.

Battle Paint's flagship performer is the Gr.1 Singapore Guineas winner and champion two and three- year-old Affleck while his leading New Zealand representative is the two-time Group One placegetter Battle Time.
