Xtravagant will be a notable absentee from the Queensland winter carnival.
The top colt has been sent to the paddock with the last-start Gr.3 Cambridge Breeders' Stakes winner to return for a Melbourne spring carnival campaign.
"He deserves a good spell and I have a super paddock reserved for him right next door to our other Group One winner this season, the unbeaten Heroic Valour," Te Akau principal David Ellis said.
Xtravagant has won five of his nine starts this season, including the Gr.1 NZ 2000 Guineas and against the older horses in the Gr.1 NRM Sprint.
