Leading Victorian trainer Darren Weir dominated Morphettville on Saturday, with three winners from as many runners.

Amongst them was the promising three-year-old Howard Be Thy Name (Redoute's Choice) who easily won the Gr.3 Chairman's Stakes and will be set for the Gr.1 South Australian Derby.

"That was pain-free,'' winning rider Brad Rawiller said. "He's ticking over perfectly heading towards the Derby.

"He's happy and he appears to have pulled up well, which is important with the big one to go.'' The Tasmanian Derby runner-up followed his Port Adelaide Guineas win a fortnight earlier with an equally impressive performance.

Weir's Warrnambool stable foreman Jarrod McLean said the horse would be even better again when he returned to Adelaide for the Group 1 Derby in a fortnight's time.

Howard Be Thy Name is bred and raced by New Zealander Eric Watson and is out of his top class Faltaat mare Bellini Rose.
