Gr.1 New Zealand Derby placegetter Raghu (NZ) (Showcasing) will step out at Te Rapa on Saturday in The Clubhouse Café & Sports Bar Cambridge Premier (1600m) as he prepares for a tilt at the Gr.1 Queensland Derby.
Raghu finished second in a trial at Waipa last week, pleasing trainer Tony Pike.
"He trialled well and showed he was still up to the mark," Pike said. "He only had two weeks off after the New Zealand Derby, and should be hard to beat on Saturday. I'm very happy with him."
"The race will set him up nicely for his Queensland campaign, which starts with the Rough Habit Plate (2000m) in two weeks' time and will be targeted around the Queensland Derby."
