Danielle Johnson remains uncertain when she will resume riding after suffering a hand injury in her fall from Romantic Maid in last Saturday's Championship Stakes at Ellerslie.
Johnson has had her hand in a cast since the fall and revisited her doctor on Wednesday, but the extent of her injury is still not clear.
"The doctor took the cast off and it's back in a cast again and I have to go back next week," said Johnson. "Because of the swelling they can't find out exactly what's wrong.
"Ideally it's a little crack because that would heal a lot quicker. But the doctor says it could be ligament damage and that can take a lot longer.
"It's pretty sore and tender."
Johnson is lying third on the NZ Jockeys Premiership with 86 wins, 25 behind the leader Lisa Allpress. Matt Cameron is second with 102 wins.
