Waikato Stud fees unchanged

Savabeel - Trish Dunell

Despite another highly successful season, Waikato Stud is retaining the same stud fees for the upcoming breeding season.

"We have had an enquiry as to what Savabeel's fee would go up to, but we feel it's fair to leave it at $100,000 plus GST, LFG (live foal guarantee)," said studmaster Mark Chittick.

"Savabeel has had another massive year. Off the back of six individual Group One winners last season – which was double that of any other sire in Australasia – he has excelled at the top level this season with son Kawi, who won three Group Ones, and daughter Lucia Valentina, who added the third Group One win of her career in Australia's $4 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes. In addition to this pair he has been responsible for seven other stakes winners."

Savabeel is New Zealand's leading sire in the sale ring with his Karaka Premier yearlings averaging $265,555 and selling up to $825,000 this year.

Sacred Falls, the dual Doncaster winner, and the Cox Plate winner Ocean Park will both stand at $30,000, while the fee for Pins remains at $25,000, Rock 'n' Pop, $9000 and Rios $4000. All fees are plus GST with live foal guarantee.
