The opportunity to ride one of her favourite horses sees Rosie Myers back in the saddle at Riccarton on Saturday.
The main drawcard for Myers is the ride on Benzini in the Gr. 3 Coca-Cola Canterbury Gold Cup.
"It's a bit earlier than I planned, but when the Bulls (trainers Adrian and Harry) approached me a couple of weeks ago to see if I would be right to ride him I couldn't say no," said Myers.
"I love riding him. He always gives his best and is never far away. He should be a top ride."
Myers broke a bone in her leg last month when her mount flipped over in trackwork. The injury came just four days before she was to ride Benzini in the Auckland Cup. Vinnie Colgan picked up the Cup ride when finishing 10th and Benzini notched his 10th win last start, at Riccarton in the hands of Masa Tanaka.
Myers has three confirmed rides for Riccarton and may also ride Black Sav in the Listed Warstep Stakes. "Lisa (Latta) is unsure about starting her, but if she does she wants me to ride her," said Myers.
