Promising three-year-old Predator has undergone an operation since his unsuccessful Australian debut in Sydney last month.
After finishing seventh in the NZ Derby, Predator dropped out to finish third-last in the Gr.2 Tulloch Stakes at Randwick.
"He has had a minor wind operation," said co-trainer Trent Busuttin. "He had an entrapped epiglottis. He's having six weeks off."
Predator will then become part of Busuttin and Natalie Young's new stable at Cranbourne in Victoria. The son of Savabeel has won twice from five starts and been runner-up on one occasion and is held in high regard by his trainers.
