Miss Denni will get an opportunity to earn further black type at Rotorua next month. Trainer Tony Pike has earmarked the Listed Rotorua Stakes, the weight-for-age fillies and mares race over 1400 metres on May 14, as the next mission for the Pins mare.

"She is owned by Sir Owen Glenn and he was keen to get black type with her and she achieved it last Saturday at Hastings," said Pike. "Rotorua is another good chance for her."

Miss Denni won three races from the Sydney stable of Chris Waller and left Australia on a successful note, winning at Canterbury in mid-February. She made her debut for Pike last weekend and finished a short head second to Passing Shot in the Listed NZB Finance Sprint.

"Her trial win at Avondale was outstanding and I thought she would be hard to beat," said Pike.
