Cambridge trainer Andrew Forsman was unimpressed by events at Rotorua on Wednesday and he didn't hold back in his criticism.
"Obviously we didn't expect to be running on a Slow 9 when you accept with a horse in the morning on a Dead 6," he said. "It's a bit of a disgrace to turn up here and find the track conditions we've been dealt with."
The going was downgraded after the opening event, despite the absence of any rain on the day.
"As a licence holder, if I make a mistake I am responsible and if a jockey makes a mistake they get fined yet no-one will be held accountable here and it's not the first time things like this have happened," Forsman said.
"It's very disappointing. Clearly, it was never a Dead 6 and you knew that by walking on it."
