Being in the right place at the right time has enabled Simms Davison's Mapperley Stud to double their involvement with a global thoroughbred giant.
The Matamata farm will this year launch the stallion careers of the Group One winners Contributer and Complacent.
"It came down to having a good relationship with Darley and when I heard Complacent had been retired I got on a plane to go over and see him and the day I was there Contributer injured himself," Davison said.
"I was just Johnny on the spot so it's been a very busy last month getting everything together.
"Contributer will stand in a partnership between Mapperley and Darley and a group of New Zealand breeders while a partnership between Mapperley and Darley will stand Complacent. Darley will definitely be supporting both horses."
A two-time Listed winner in England, High Chaparral's son Contributor was a first-up winner of the Gr.3 Coongy Handicap in Australia for trainer John O'Shea.
Last autumn he added the Gr.2 Apollo Stakes, the Gr.1 Chipping Norton Stakes and the Gr.1 Ranvet Stakes to be crowned the champion middle distance galloper of 2014-15.
"He's a perfect fit for us after the huge success we've had with the progeny of High Chaparral with both So You Think and Dundeel being raised and grazed at Mapperley," Davison said.
"He's a lovely looking horse, a great mover and with a real presence about him."
Contributer is a son of the Exit To Nowhere mare dam Serisia, a Group Three winner in France.
Complacent won the Gr.3 Gloaming Stakes as a three-year-old, claimed top honours in the Gr.1 Spring Champion Stakes and finished runner-up in the Gr.1 VRC Derby for trainer Peter Snowden.
His career was halted for 21 months by a tendon injury before he returned last year from O'Shea's stable to add the Gr.2 Chelmsford Stakes and the Gr.3 Craven Plate to his record.
"He's got a beautiful temperament, a real dude, and he's a beautiful looking horse," Davison said.
By Authorized, Complacent is one of seven winners out of the Quest For Fame mare Insouciance and he is a half-brother to the stakes performers Offhanded, who raced in Hong Kong as Tailwind, and Careless.
Stud fees have yet to be set for Contributer and Complacent, who will stand alongside Atlante and He's Remarkable at Mapperley. – NZ Racing Desk.
