Haunui Farm stallion Showcasing (Oasis Dream) has ticked another box in terms of his stallion success notching his first winner in Hong Kong.

The Danny Chum-trained Super Sprinter (NZ) (Showcasing) followed up his last-start third to break maiden status with an impressive front running performance over 1650m at Happy Valley on Thursday night.

The Champion 2YO & First Season Sire of last season, Showcasing currently leads the race for the Second Season Sires title ahead of Per Incanto (USA) (Street Cry), Shocking (Aus) (Street Cry), Makfi (GB) (Dubawi) and, Rip Van Winkle (Ire) (Galileo). Showcasing has sired 11 stakes performers to date, giving him a stakes performers to runners ratio of 17%.

"I think his stakes performers to runners ratio is quite telling," says Haunui Farm's Managing Director, Mark Chitty. "He's not hanging his hat on just one or two horses and the fact that his three-year-old crop has a winners to runners ratio of 49% - 27/55- also shows his progeny have trained on."

In order to ensure long-term sale ring success, performance in our major export markets is extremely important and Showcasing's results in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong, also see him leading the way.

"He's five from ten in Australia, six from seven in Singapore and now he's got points on the board in Hong Kong from just five runners," said Chitty. "We can't ask for much more at this stage."
