A bold run is expected from Thunder Down Under at Ellerslie on Saturday.
The colt will look to turn his fortunes around in the Raymor 1600 following a last-start failure on the course in the Gr.1 New Zealand Derby.
"We want him back in winning form and then we can get him over to Queensland for the winter," trainer Stephen Ralph said.
"We were scratching our heads after the Derby – he does his best work in the last 400 metres and he just wasn't hitting out. He didn't try and that's not like him.
"Then four days after the Derby he had a blow out in his heel so we had the reason. He had five days off after the stone bruise came out and he's ready to go again now."
