New Zealand-bred three-year-old Montaigne has been sold to Hong Kong interests.
The deal, which is understood to be in excess of seven figures, was completed in the wake of the Road To Rock gelding's performance against the older horses at Rosehill on Saturday.
"We've had interest from Hong Kong for the last couple of months and we agreed on a figure after his fourth in The BMW," stable spokesman Edward Cummings said.
"You never like to see a horse of his ability leave the stable, but it's business and despite our desire to keep him at Randwick we're always mindful of getting a return for our owners."
Montaigne, whose ownership group included a syndicate from New Plymouth, won two races before he placed in the Gr.1 Rosehill Guineas and the Gr.2 Hobartville Stakes for trainer Anthony Cummings. He was a $60,000 purchase at Karaka.
