Tapanui trainer Nikki Blatch suffered facial injuries, including a broken jaw, after she was kicked by a horse in the birdcage at Riverton on Saturday.
Late scratching Olden Days kicked out and caught Blatch, who was taken to Southland Hospital and later released.
