Wayne Hillis has high hopes of adding to his Group record for long-time stable client Emma Evans.
He produced the promising Watch This Space to win at Te Rapa on Saturday for the Auckland-based breeder-owner and will now test him at black type level.
"He's very consistent and we've always thought a fair bit of him," said Hillis, who trains in partnership with Shaun Kesner.
"He has been up a while, but we'll back him up in the Japan/NZ Trophy on Saturday and then maybe the Easter."
Watch This Space's half-sister Whatz Occurring, by Iffraaj, has also won three races for Hillis and Evans and her younger brother is also showing a measure of the family ability.
"He's a two-year-old and he ran second at the Cambridge trials last month before we turned him out," Hillis said.
He has enjoyed a long and successful association with Evans, most significantly with the feature race winners Dezigna and his brother Izonit.
The former was successful 11 times, including the including victory in the Gr.1 Captain Cook Stakes at Trentham, while Izonit won the Gr.3 Manawatu Classic and was placed in the Gr. 1 Levin Classic before a half-share was sold to Hong Kong interests. – NZ Racing Desk.
