Group One-placed mare Griante will attempt to open her account at the top level in The Galaxy at Rosehill on Saturday.
Third in last season's William Reid Stakes, she was unplaced but only four lengths from the winner when resuming in the Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield last month.
"We thought her run in the Oakleigh Plate was so good, admittedly running into a lot of trouble, that we thought her chance to win a Group One would be in a handicap," said trainer David Brideoake, who shares in the ownership with Auckland couple Brendan and Jo Lindsay.
