Bel Sorriso is the latest casualty from this year's rendition of the Gr.1 Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup.
The Grant Searle-trained four-year-old did not accept for the two mile feature after coming down with a virus.
"It's nothing serious, but we scoped her this morning and she is not 100 per cent," said Searle.
"We will keep her ticking over and look at targets in the winter."
A number of leading contenders for the Auckland Cup have gone by the wayside, including early favourites Jimmy Mac and Vavasour who were both retired due to injury.
