The Avondale Jockey Club announces the appointment of new General Manager, Craig Mobberley.
Avondale Jockey Club carried out a broad search for a full time General Manager to implement the future plans the club has scheduled.
Quality applications for the position were received from England, Australia and other Southern Hemisphere-based locations. The selection process was resolved by the appointment of Craig Mobberley, who the Committee believes combines the skills, industry knowledge and passion to achieve Avondale's goals.
Mr Mobberley has a long term interest in the industry, owning shares in several horses, including recent winner Cathedral Cove.
Mr Mobberley has extensive, in-depth experience in management and is leaving his current position as part of the Auckland City Council legal team to meet the challenging role at Avondale.
Mr Mobberley will start on March 21st and is very enthusiastic about achieving the future of the Club, which both he and the Committee agree is to guide Avondale to become, once again, a significant racing venue in the Northern region.
