Group placed sprinter Shelford has been sold to China as a stallion proposition.
A $460,000 Karaka yearling, the son of Redoute's Choice began his racing days in Sydney with John O'Shea and finished third in the Gr.2 Todman Stakes and seventh in the Gr.1 Golden Slipper.
A subsequent winner of two races, Shelford later joined Tony Pike's Cambridge stable and added an open class victory at Ellerslie to his record and a second in the Gr.3 Darley Plate.
