Xtravagant has rounded off his preparation for Saturday's Gr.1 Australian Guineas at Flemington in good style.
Ridden by his race day jockey Matt Cameron at Matamata on Tuesday morning, the colt was paired with his stablemate Duchess Kate over 1200 metres.
Xtravagant travelled sweetly throughout to clock 1:19.2, 1000m in 1:05.3 and he hit the line well to run the closing 600m in 38.2 on a slow course proper.
"We're as happy as we've ever been with him, he's right on his game," co-trainer Stephen Autridge told The Informant. "With the rain we've had the ground wasn't ideal for him, but Matt said he was all right held together like that.
"Everything's in place at this end, so all we want now is a trouble-free trip across to Melbourne to set him up for the weekend."
