Hayes weighing up Risque decision

Hall of Fame trainer David Hayes is leaning towards running star filly Risque (NZ) (Darci Brahma) second-up in Saturday week's Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington.

The former Kiwi three-year-old created a big impression at her Australian debut with a fast-finishing victory in the Kevin Hayes Stakes (1200m).

Though he admitted he was considering running the daughter of Darci Brahma in Saturday's Group 2 Angus Armanasco Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield, Hayes said he was leaning towards the Guineas after the filly worked impressively alongside stable mate Wawail at Flemington on Tuesday morning.

"We're going to have a look at the Angus Armanasco but looking at her today I don't think she needs a race going into the Australian Guineas based on the way she pulled up after her work this morning," Hayes said. – Racing.com
