Last year's New Zealand Oaks winner Savaria will be back in familiar territory when she tackles the Gr.3 Platinum Homes Taranaki Cup on Saturday.
The Roydon Bergerson-trained mare finished second to Thee Auld Floozie in the Oaks Prelude at the same meeting last year, which was a stepping stone to success in the Lowland Stakes and the Oaks.
"It worked well last year and I just hope the pace is on and she will run home well," Bergerson said.
"Looking ahead, I thought the Bonecrusher Stakes might be a nice target and a bit lighter on quality – obviously no Soriano and hopefully no Kawi."
