Opie Bosson's excellence in the saddle has earned him a stint in one of the racing world's most competitive environments.

The 35-year-old's exploits have been rewarded with a three month contract in Hong Kong, beginning on April 24.

"It's great and something I've always wanted to do," Bosson said.

"I've been in contact with them over the last year about it and they got in touch with me recently and it's all go."

The timing is perfect for Bosson and will allow him to fulfil potentially lucrative autumn engagements with the Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained pair of Mongolian Khan and Turn Me Loose during The Championships in Australia.

"Sydney will have wound down and then I'll go – I'm looking forward to it," Bosson said.

He has established himself as an elite senior rider in New Zealand with more than 1500 career winners after claiming three champion apprentice titles.

More recently he has enjoyed stunning success with the dual Derby winner Mongolian Khan, who provided him with a career highlight last year when they triumphed in the Caulfield Cup.

After winning his first domestic jockeys' premiership in the 2006-2007 racing season, Bosson was again crowned champion rider in the 2009-2010 season with 158 wins and in the 2012-2013 with 152 wins.

Bosson has also represented New Zealand in the 2007, 2010 and the 2013 editions of the JRA World Super Jockeys' Series in Japan. – NZ Racing Desk.
