Sydney is off the radar, but another visit to Brisbane is on Addictive Habit's itinerary for later in the year.

The Group One winner is back in work with Lee Somervell with the Gr.1 Easter Handicap the first major domestic target of his autumn preparation.

"I nominated him for the Doncaster Handicap and the Queen Elizabeth, but we've decided against that and we'll be looking to Ellerslie first," Somervell said.

"He's had three weeks off and he absolutely thrived. We're all keen on Brisbane again and we'll be much better prepared this time and we know he will get in all the big races."

Addictive Habit had four starts during last year's Queensland carnival and won a Listed race at the Gold Coast, as well as an open handicap placing.

He has since boosted his rating with success in the Gr.1 Livamol Classic, the Gr.2 Foxbridge Plate and a repeat win in the Gr.2 Coupland's Bakeries Mile.

Somervell's Riccarton jaunts have also had an added spin-off with Silhouette Noire, who is raced by Anne Marie de Spa and Charles Hall, joining his team.

"They are lovely people and I met them the first time I went down for the Couplands," Somervell said.

"They later sent me a Darci Brahma two-year-old who is shaping up well and then rang to see if I would take this mare."

Silhouette Noire has won five of her 22 starts and she has been stakes placed on three occasions from Terri Rae's Riccarton stable.

"Terri has done a great job with her, but there are more black type opportunities up here," Somervell said. "She should be ready to run within a month.

"She's a magnificent-looking mare with a lovely attitude. She's a pleasure to have around." – NZ Racing Desk.
