Trainer Anthony Cummings has earmarked the Gr1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) on 19 March as a potential autumn target for exciting Sydney 3YO Montaigne following his impressive win at Randwick on Saturday. The 3YO Road To Rock gelding improved his record to 2 wins from 3 starts when scoring a dominant 2.3 length win in the Colin Tidy Tribute Handicap over 1600 metres. "He's a very exciting horse," Cummings told Sky Racing. "It's always a good effort for a three-year-old to take on the older horses...and to win with such authority really does speak well for his future." He added: "He's always shown us plenty at home...He's still learning and there's plenty of improvement to come." Montaigne is the first foal to race from the unraced Bel Esprit mare Stylish Bel and was a NZ$60,000 purchase by Hermes Syndications at the 2014 NZ Bloodstock Select Yearling Sale from the draft of Highden Park.
