Jimmy Choux continues to give Richard Wood cause for celebrations.

The Hawke's Bay identity raced the multiple Group One winner with his wife Liz and they retained a significant interest in the former Horse of the Year when he retired to Rich Hill Stud.

Wood had good reason to smile again on Thursday when his colt by Jimmy Choux was bought out of Lime Country Thoroughbreds' Select Sale draft at Karaka by Japan's Big Red Farm for $210,000.

"Richard bought a number of mares to specifically send to the stallion and this is the result of one of them," Lime Country's Jo Griffin said.

The colt is out of the Testa Rossa mare Diva von Tessa, a winner in Australia from the family of the unbeaten champion sprinter Black Caviar and top-flight winners and sires All Too Hard and Magnus.

"There was a lot of really strong interest in him and a lot of x-ray inspections," Griffin said.

"He has continued to thrive up here so we were hoping for a great result and that's what we got."

Established in 1974, Big Red Farm stands eight stallions, including the Hong Kong Cup winner Agnes Digital and produced Cosmo Bulk to win the Sgp Gr. 1 Singapore Airlines International Cup in 2006.

They had earlier purchased The Oaks Stud's Darci Brahma colt out of the Group Two-winning mare Diamond Deck during the Premier Sale for $50,000. – NZ Racing Desk.
