Cambridge trainer John Bell got lumbered with Enough, but he's not complaining after the four-year-old's impressive first-up victory.

He produced the later-maturer to win at Tauranga and will shoot for further success in the Mainstream Plumbing & Gasfitting 1400 at Ellerslie on New Year's Day.

"He's an untapped talent, a very nice horse," Bell said. "I purchased him for a Hong Kong client and then got a phone call saying they had changed their minds, which meant I had to take ownership.

"He's a horse that's needed time and he's out of a very good Zabeel mare with a temperament that only Jimmy Gibbs could handle."

By O'Reilly, Enough is a son of the dual Group Two winner Lafleur, also the dam of the stakes winners Amaryllis and Papilio.

"He's shown tremendous talent and we've put a huge amount of time into him," Bell said.

He rates Enough more than favourably with Mosse, who has unfortunately suffered yet another setback in his injury-plagued career – this time with a hairline fracture of the fetlock."

"He'll be back and we'll potter around in the handicaps next season," Bell said.

The stable will also be represented at Ellerslie on Friday by the Gr.3 Scot Thrust City of Auckland Cup contender Storming The Tower and the New Zealand Herald 2100 hope Gorgeous Ryder.

Storming The Tower has finished in the money in his last two starts and was placed in the race two years ago.

"He's very fit and has got fresh legs," Bell said. "I've got no worries with him."

Gorgeous Ryder has made an encouraging start to his career with a win and two runner-up finishes from three appearances.

"He's a very green horse and still learning," Bell said. "He's a nice horse and very fit." – NZ Racing Desk.
