Hong Kong champion Beauty Generation (NZ) (Road to Rock) has been named the equal best miler in the world, alongside Winx, in the 2018 LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings (WBRR), released on Wednesday.

With a rating of 127, which he earned for an outstanding display in the Gr.1 LONGINES Hong Kong Mile (1600m) in December, Beauty Generation has also become Hong Kong’s joint top-rated horse of all-time.

Winx (Street Cry) shares with Beauty Generation the top miler accolade thanks to a 127 rating earned when winning the Gr.1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m). The darling of the Australian turf is out of stakes-winning New Zealand-bred mare Vegas Showgirl (NZ) (Al Akbar).

“That’s quite something, to match Winx as the best of the world’s milers,” Trainer John Moore told the South China Morning Post.

“He’s the pride of Hong Kong and he’s the pride of our stable. Anything near Winx is something special because she is the greatest mare racing on the planet, and to be ranked around her rating is remarkable.”

Beauty Generation was a graduate of Highden Park's 2014 Select Yearling draft at the New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale.

Purchased by Kylie Bax’ Hermes Syndications for $60,000, the son of Road To Rock initially raced in Australia under the name Montaigne where he won twice and was runner-up to Tarzino in the Gr.1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m).

The outstanding six-year-old was bred by Greg Tomlinson’s Nearco Stud and has now won give Group One races in Hong Kong.

A Tavistock half-sister to Beauty Generation will be offered as Lot 443 through the draft of Carlaw Park of New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale, which commences on Sunday.
