Murray Baker will look to advance his Derby chances at Ellerslie on Sunday.
Baker and training partner Andrew Forsman will produce Cutadeel, Thomas Aquinas and Bobby Dee in the Listed Barfoot & Thompson 3YO Salver (2100m) as a stepping stone towards the Gr.1 Vodafone New Zealand Derby (2400m) at the same track on March 2.
"They are all nice staying prospects. Cutadeel won well at Te Rapa last time as the only three-year-old in the field so he did well to beat the older horses," Baker said.
"Thomas Aquinas has got a bad draw but he looks like the extra distance will suit and Bobby Dee never got in the race last start. He got back at the start and just didn't fire a shot. But he did well the start before and we're looking for a decent line on him in this race."
