Regally bred filly House of Cartier picked up her first career win at Pukekohe Park on Wednesday, with her trainer Nigel Tiley attributing the addition of blinkers as a factor.
The three-year-old is out of four-time Group One-winning mare Shez Sinsational and Tiley said she has a lot of ability.
“She’s a lovely filly, she’s got a big future,” he said.
“She did a bit of work midfield, but it was a typical Leith ride, he’s kept something up his sleeve and produced her when he needed to.
“She has been looking for the blinkers, but if you put blinkers on them too soon they don’t learn much. She had a couple of runs and the blinkers have really sharpened her up.”
Her Darci Brahma half-sister, Sinarahma, picked up her second career win at Wanganui on Saturday, winning comfortably by three and a quarter lengths.
