Our Sea Goddess, the daughter of seven-time Group One-winning mare Seachange, recorded her first victory at Geelong on Wednesday.

The Lindsay Park-trained four-year-old was bred by The Oaks Stud principal Dick Karreman and carried the farms’ colours to victory over 1400m in just her second start.

The Darci Brahma mare jumped away well from the outside barrier in the 11 horse field and crossed easily to take an early lead under jockey Regan Bayliss.

The pair dictated terms throughout and held off a late challenge by Boltoutoftheblue to win by a head.

“It was fantastic, it was a really good effort because she got taken on early. She was really strong to the line, so it was good to see,” co-trainer Ben Hayes said.

“I just loved how she pinged the barriers and Regan just crossed very easily and he did dictate, but when she got taken on she really picked up and it was a really great effort.”
