Ruakaka trainers Chris Gibbs and Michelle Bradley are taking a strong team down to Hastings for the last day of the Hawke’s Bay carnival, but their biggest chances may be in the Bay For NZ Punter of the Year 2200.
The newly formed training partnership will line-up last-start winners Amazing Az and Los Angeles in the 2200m undercard and they believe both four-year-old’s are strong chances in the race.
“They are very exciting horses from a staying point of view,” Gibbs said. “Especially Amazing As, he’s an untapped talent.
“Los Angeles surprised me a bit last time. I thought she might have felt the ground a touch, because they were running to time that day, but she let down and won quite impressively.
“She cemented her trip down to Hastings and we have got some owners involved in her down in Hastings, so it will be nice for them.”
The Gibbs-Bradley stable will also line-up Danzdanzdance and Hello It’s Me in the Gr.1 Livamol Classic (2040m), while Vinevale and Not Usual Heart will be aiming for black-type in the Gr.3 Red Badge Spring Sprint (1400m).
