Victorian apprentice Jack Martin landed a maiden Stakes victory on Saturday when Moss 'N' Dale (NZ) (Castledale) destroyed his rivals in the Listed Tokyo City Cup (1800m) at Morphettville.
The Peter Gelagotis-trained six-year-old stormed down the middle of the track to claim Danon Liberty and Temps Voleur inside the final 100m before running away to post a two-length win.
Martin, 23, said he was thrilled to reward the faith of Gelagotis, who indicated post-race the son of Castledale could now be aimed at the next month's $500,000 Craven Plate (2000m) at Randwick, one of the feature races on The Everest undercard.
