Jockey Michael Coleman expects a much-improved performance from Francaletta in Saturday's Gr.1 Windsor Park Plate (1600m) at Hastings.

Coleman admitted he was disappointed with the Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained High Chaparral mare after she faded to ninth place after getting one of the best runs in the race in the Gr.1 Tarzino Trophy (1400m) at Hastings earlier this month.

"It was poor but she'd had a hard run first-up in the Foxbridge Plate and missing the trial at Te Teko when they were postponed didn't help her cause," Coleman said.

"She had to work from a wide draw in the Foxbridge and I just think that probably knocked her for her second-up run. She's had a trial since and hopefully she can bounce back.

"I expect her to run a solid race. She's a class mare and she's a chance if she can get the run to suit."
